Short Description

Air Emissions from vessels can be defined as any emissions discharged into the air from the internal main combustion engine, generators, boilers, etc. for example, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides, sulfur oxides, etc. On specific emissions produced by a vessel there are charges (or emission fees).

The Air Emissions module is designed to enable users to calculate and identify the total emission quantity of each generated emission type from a vessel or fleet. Calculations are possible for a broad range of different emissions based on fuel and consumption data. This enables the identification of produced emissions by a fleet or vessel and supports calculation of the different kinds of air emissions generated from the main engine, generators and boilers on board. To calculate a vessel’s emissions, the fuel type, the emission factor for each vessel and emission type MUST be entered in the Air Emissions tab. An emission factor can be defined a measure of the average amount of an emission, per metric tonne of fuel burned.

It is also possible to use the module to produce automated reports, for example, yearly/monthly/quarterly. Once issued, the reports can be sent directly to a business partner or appropriate government body. The module can also be utilised to monitor a fleet’s environmental footprint to enable a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

The Air Emissions module is represented by the Air Emissions- and Air Emission Fees tabs in the Vessel Administration module. In the Air Emissions tab the different emission types can be entered and in the Air Emission Fees tab various emission fees can be entered. Emission fees are defined and linked to an emission type in the Emission Fees module in Master Data. The Emission Fee Types module holds information about different user defined fee types.

Long Description

To rename a vessel

Enter Air Emissions Details

1. Go to Modules > Master Data > Vessel Administration. The Vessel Administration window will openopens.
2. Click Select vessel to re-named in the left-hand menu tree. Its fields will display appears to the right.
3. Click Rename. A separate pop-up appears:

   Enter the new vessel name and click OK. The vessel has been renamed.

To edit a vessel

1. the Air Emissions tab. Its fields displays.
2. Click Create New. A blank row displays in the upper tab field and its blank fields in the lower.
   
   Example:

3. Fill in the fields as follows:
   
   1. Enter either
      
      1. the emission type under Emission Type
      2. or click the Triple Dot Selector next to the field. A pop-up with a list of input values opens. Select field and click OK.

   2. Enter the emission factor under Emission Factor.
   3. Enter the bunker category under Bunker Category.
   4. Enter either
      
      1. a valid from date under Valid From Date
      2. or click the Triple Dot Selector next to the field. A pop-up calendar to select date opens. Select date and click OK.

4. Click Save. The new emission details displays in the blank row in the upper tab field.
5. To continue adding a vessel - return to Vessel Administration.

Edit an Emission

1. Go to Modules > Master Data >

   Vessel

   General Master Data Administration. The

   Vessel

   General Master Data Administration window

   will open

   opens.

2. Click vessel to be edited in the left-hand menu tree. Its fields

   will display

   displays to the right.

3. Click the Air Emissions tab and its fields display.

4. Click the emission row to be edited - it will highlight.

5. Edit as appropriate the fields displayed

   in the respective tabs

   in the lower right-hand field.

6. Click Save.

Remove an Emission

1. Go to Modules > Master Data > Vessel Administration. The Vessel Administration window will openopens.
2. Click vessel with the emission to be edited removed in the left-hand menu tree. Its fields will display displays to the right.
3. Click the Air Emissions tab and its fields display.
4. Click Deletethe emission row to be removed - it will highlight.
5. Click Remove. A pop-up appears opens asking to confirm deletion.
6. Click Yes. The pop-up will vanish close and the selected row soft-deleted only - and moved to the Deleted tab.
   To undelete a vessel:is removed.

Enter Air Emission Fees Details

1. Go to Modules > Master Data > Vessel Administration. The Vessel Administration window will openopens.
2. Go Select vessel in the left-hand menu tree. Its fields displays to the Deleted tabright.
3. Click the soft-deleted vessel to be restored.Click Undelete. The row will vanish from the Deleted tab.
   To permanently delete a vessel:Air Emission Fees tab. Its fields display.
4. Click Add Fee.
5. A pop-up with a list of emission fees (defined in the Emission Fees module) opens. Select field and click OK.

6. The added emission fee displays as a highlighted row in the upper tab field and its fields in the lower.

7. Enter either
   
   1. the valid from date under Valid From Date
   2. or click the Triple Dot Selector next to the field. A pop-up calendar to select date opens. Select date and click OK.

8. The pop-up will close and the entered valid from date displays under Valid From in the highlighted emission fee row.

9. To continue adding a vessel - return to Vessel Administration.

Remove an Emission Fee

1. Go to Modules > Master Data > Vessel Administration. The Vessel Administration window will openopens.
2. Soft-delete the vessel to be permanently deletedClick vessel with the emission type to be removed in the left-hand menu tree. Its fields display to the right.
3. Click the Deleted tab Air Emission Fees tab and its fields display.
4. Click the vessel emission type row to be deleted removed - it will highlight.
5. Click Delete Permanently Remove. A pop-up appears opens asking to confirm deletion.
6. Click Yes. The pop-up will vanish close and the selected vessel deletedrow is removed.
