Question
Is it possible to enter the port captain of each port call and include this information in reports?
Answer
Yes. In both the Port Rotation - Schedule tab and in the Port Rotation - Cost tab of the Booking and Opertions module, there is a column titeled Port Captain. If a port captain is entered in the column row of a specific port call, this information will be included in reports. Also, when an existing port call with a port captain is moved to a new voyage the VMS will use the same port captain for the moved port call.
To enter a port captain: - Go to Master Data > General Master Data Administration > Individuals and enter relevant data.
- Go to Modules > Booking and Operations > Booking and Operations.
- Click applicable vessel in the By Vessel Tab (left-hand field) - it will highlight - it's details display will display in the right-hand and lower fields.
- Click applicable voyage in the Voyage List tab - it will highlight and its details display.
- Go to the Port Rotation - Schedule tab or the Port Rotation – Cost tab in at the lower half of the screen.
- The seleted vessel's schedule will display and the selected voyage highlight in green.
- Locate the Port Captain column.
- Click the field of applicable port under the Port Captain column.
- Either
- enter applicable port captain or
- click the Triple Dot Selector next to the field. A pop-up with a list of port captains opens. Select a port captain and click OK.
- The pop-up will close and the added port captain will display under correct port in the Port Captain column and in generated reports.
