FAS Scenario Mode

Introduction:

FAS has 2 main modes: Master Fleet Plan and Fleet Plan Scenario. In master mode you operate on the actual voyage data connected to VMS, and as such operations performed in VMS will affect what you see in master mode in FAS and vice versa. Scenario mode provides an environment where you can generate and modify complete fleet plan scenarios that are 100% separated from the data in VMS. This provides the scheduler with a tool to easily build and test different schedules without affecting the master fleet plan data.

Working in a Scenario:

You enter scenario mode by clicking the Fleet Plan Scenario button and clicking on a scenario from the drop-down menu. The selected scenario will then load. Once in scenario mode, all basic FAS operations are possible on this scenario and can be performed similarly as in master mode: The fleet plan in Gantt View and List View will be available as well as the list of unallocated dry-docks and unallocated voyages. In scenario mode an additional list with estimate voyages is also visible. Operations like allocating, moving or unallocating will work just as in master mode, and will enable you to compose any schedule in your scenario. No operations performed in scenario mode will affect data related to master.

Maintaining Scenarios:

There are 5 main options available to maintain the list of scenarios. These are all available in a separate drop-down menu when clicking the Fleet Plan Scenario button. The list of available scenarios will then show along with the scenario operations:

  • Create
Creates a completely blank scenario with all the schedulable vessels. This scenario can then be built from scratch by allocating dry-docks, estimates or unallocated voyages.

  • Copy Master
Creates a copy from the master fleet plan. This scenario will by default look 100% identical to the master fleet plan, but can be modified as any scenario without interfering with master.

  • Edit
Opens the edit window for the scenario where you can modify details like scenario name, code and responsible user.

  • Copy
Makes a copy of the selected scenario.

  • Delete
    Deletes the selected scenario.
