How to configure estimation of correct bunker types for your vessel

Introduction

In order to configure the system to estimate and calculate the vessel’s correct bunker consumption by using the correct bunker type(s), some changes need to be done in Vessel Administration to the Masterdata - Dataloy Property.

• In the Vessel Administration - Main Data tab - Bunker Types section, please add the correct bunker type(s) based on the vessel’s description. (Example : if the vessel is consuming FO 380cst ISO year 2010 sulfur % 3.5 -> add the bunker type RMG380-2010-3.5)

• On the Masterdata - Dataloy Property - 'com.dataloy.eca.restrictbunkertypes', set the Property Value to 'true’.

Definitions:
FO = High Sulphur Fuel Oil e.g. RMG380 3.5% sulphur
FOLS = Low Sulphur Fuel Oil e.g. RMG380 0.5% sulphur
DO = Diesel Oil / Gas Oil e.g. DMA
DOLS = Low Sulphur Diesel Oil / Gas Oil e.g. DMA 0.1% sulphur

Default (Fuel Oil + Diesel Oil + Low Sulphur Diesel)

For vessels burning FO and DO outside ECA, and DOLS inside ECA.
This is the default estimation scheme, and is used if nothing else is configured.

Configuration:

• No configuration is needed.

• However, keep in mind that if one or more types are added, all bunker types belonging to the FO, FOLS, DO, and DOLS bunker categories need to be added.

Fuel Oil + Low Sulphur Diesel  

For vessels burning FO and DOLS outside ECA, and DOLS inside ECA.

Configuration:

• In the Vessel Administration - Main Data tab - Bunker Types section : Add a bunker type belonging to the FO, FOLS, and DOLS bunker categories (FOLS bunker type is required due to configurational issues)

Low Sulphur Diesel

For vessels burning DOLS on all engines inside and outside ECA.

Configuration:

• At the Vessel Administration - Main Data tab - Bunker Types section : Add a bunker type belonging to the DOLS bunker category.

Fuel Oil + Low Sulphur Fuel Oil in ECA + Low Sulphur Diesel  

For vessels burning FO outside ECA, FOLS inside ECA, and DOLS on aux engines.

Configuration:

• In the Vessel Administration - Main Data tab - Bunker Types section : Add a bunker type belonging to the FO, FOLS and DOLS bunker categories.

• In the Vessel Administration - Internal Data tab : Tick the “Estimate FOLS Inside ECA” checkbox.

Fuel Oil + Low Sulphur Fuel Oil in ECA + Diesel Oil + Low Sulphur Diesel

For vessel burning FO outside ECA, and FOLS inside ECA on the main engine. On aux engines, this scheme estimates DO outside ECA and DOLS inside ECA.

Configuration:

• Keep in mind that if one or more types are added, all bunker types belonging to the FO, FOLS, DO and DOLS bunker categories need to be added.

• In the Vessel Administration - Internal Data tab : Tick the “Estimate FOLS Inside ECA” checkbox.

Low Sulphur Fuel Oil on Main Engine + Low Sulphur Diesel Oil on Auxiliary Engines

For vessels only burning FOLS both inside and outside ECA on the mail engine. On aux engines, this scheme estimates DOLS only.

Configuration:

• In the Vessel Administration - Main Data tab - Bunker Types section : Add a bunker type belonging to the DOLS and FOLS bunker categories.

• In the Vessel Administration - Internal Data tab : Tick the “Estimate FOLS Inside ECA” checkbox.

Scrubber

For vessels fitted with an Exhaust Gas Scrubber.
For closed loop scrubber this scheme estimates Fuel Oil (FO) on Main Engine, both inside and outside ECA, “at sea” and “in port”.
For open loop scrubber DOLS will be used in Open Loop Restricted Areas.

Configuration:

• Keep in mind that if one or more types are added, all bunker types belonging to the FO, FOLS, DO, and DOLS bunker categories need to be added.

• In the Vessel Administration - Main Data tab : Tick the “Scrubber” checkbox.
