Why can a Time Charter (TC) not be Frozen when Linked to a Business Unit?
Question
When trying to freeze a time charter a business unit must be selected, only a few of the vessels are available under "company" even though there are more. It does not allow the voyage to freeze. How come?
Answer
A business unit is can be defined as a segment of a business representing a specific function that does not necessarily match the legal entity structure, for example department, etc., whereas a company is a legal entity created to conduct business. Once a Business Unit is linked to Companies in the Master Data General Administration, the Business Units must be linked to ALL available Companies for the system to function and apply the data properly.
