Error Message: "Unparseable Date" when Entering Valid Date

Problem

When entering a date, the following error message appears:

Solution

The TimeZone in Java needs to be updated or the date is not valid. The "date is not valid" occurs when Daylight Saving time is changed in spring. As the clock is moved forward one hour, one hour of that day will be skipped and all date-times within this hour nonexistent. Example: If the time on 27.03.2015 is moved from 02.00 to 03.00, then all dates with this format "27.03.2015 02.xx" will be invalid dates.

Run TimeZone Updater Tool for Java:

  1. Go to Oracle.com (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html).
  2. Scroll down to Java Time Zone Updater Tool and download it.
  3. Unzip the timezone updater and move the tzupdater.jar into your Java/<java version>/bin folder
  4. Run the command java -jar tzupdater.jar -u in the same directory as tzupdater.jar.

  5. Restart Dataloy VMS.
