Why is the B/L Quantity Used Towards a Calculation of Time Allowed Instead of the Minimum Quantity?
Question
Why does the VMS use the B/L quantity towards a calculation of time allowed instead of using the minimum quantity?
Answer
If both a minimum and a B/L quantity are entered in the Booking and Operations module Dataloy VMS will, in a laytime calculation, by default choose the amount entered in the Bill of Lading. To override this defualt the Laytime Quantity Option can be used. This option overrides the quantity retrieved from the B/L and once entered will be the one used when calculating time allowed. The quantity must be manually entered in the column called Laytime Qty (located next to the Quantity column in the Laytime Calculations module).
