Change Laytime Commence/Complete Dates Using Proration

Problem

When using proration in a laytime calculation the commenced date cannot be changed. It keeps reverting back to the original when Recalculate is clicked.

Solution

When a calculation utilising proration is run, the VMS will treat all cargoes being prorated at a particular port as one by using the first laytime commenced and last laytime completed time and dates of the cargoes and copy the dates to them all. The VMS will automatically enter the first and final laytime commence and completed dates and times of the cargoes and copy them to all. To change a commence or completion date that date must be entered in ALL of the ports if it is:

  • AFTER the commenced date
  • or BEFORE the completion date

If they are not, the VMS will only ignore the new dates in favour of the previously entered as they occur before (for new laytime commencement dates) and after (for new completion dates).
