Market Index Administration

Short Description

The Market Index Administration module holds the different types of indices used in Dataloy VMS. The indices and their values are used when measuring actual rates against indices and when they together with other functions across the VMS are used for example when measuring performance, making comparisons with different markets, as factors in calculations, etc.

Currently Dataloy VMS supports three types of index categories:

• Bunker Prices
• Freight Forward Agreement (FFA) Rates
• Time Charter (TC) Rates

Each category allows the addition of user defined indices belonging to that type. Each index is identified by a market index code and name, can be linked to different parts of the system and can hold an unlimited number of values for given periods and dates. Presently, all indices in the Market Index Administration module must be manually entered/maintained.

Long Description

Add/Edit/Delete Market Indices and Values

1. Go to Modules > Master Data > Market Index Administration. The Market Index Administration window opens.
   
   
   
   

2. Click selected index category in the left-hand menu tree. The selected index category field displays in the right-hand field listing all entered indices as rows and as units in the left-hand menu tree.
   
   

   Index Categories:
   Bunker Prices
   FFA Rates
   TC Rates

   
   
   

3. To add/edit/delete indices and index values follow the step-by-step instructions on the respective index category pages.
