Emission Controlled Areas (ECA) and Bunker Consumption Estimation
Short Description
Dataloy VMS estimates low sulphur bunker consumption based on the Emission Controlled Areas (ECAs) around the world. The low sulphur bunker estimation is based on the distance and time sailed in the emission controlled areas. In addition, the VMS estimates In Port consumption based on the location of the port, or administrative/governmental rules.
Please Note: The routing in Dataloy VMS is not adjusted to minimise sailing in ECA zones. Routing in Dataloy VMS remains unchanged compared to previous versions, i.e. to serve the shortest navigable route available.
2015 - New Sulphur Limit in All ECAs
From 1 January 2015 IMO's new ECA regulations will limit the sulphur content to 0.1%. The new sulphur limit applies to all ECA areas.
Dataloy VMS will form version 3.15.4 calculate Low Sulphur Diesel Oil (DOLS) for all engines (Main and Auxiliary) on voyage legs ending after 1st of January 2015.
