Error Message when Starting Dataloy VMS

Problem

An error message appears when trying to start the VMS. Why and how is this rectified?

Solution


The error message will show when there is either an:

  • inconsistency between the Java cache and the application files on the application server or
  • an inconsistency between the Java cache version and the java version on the PC/terminal server.

This issue is usually rectified by following the steps below.
Note: If the error persists - or if the error message contains the message "Unsigned application requesting unrestricted access to system Unsigned resource: [...]" - re-install JAVA (https://www.java.com/en/download/help/plugin_cache.xml).

To rectify Clear the Java cache by following the steps below:

  1. Press Start.
  2. Select Run or type cmd in the Run/Search field.
  3. Press Enter.
  4. A command line pop-up opens.
  5. Enter javaws -uninstall and press Enter.
  6. Re-start Dataloy VMS.
